Serve Christ at Saint Clement’s Church

Saint Clement’s Church is a parish in the heart of downtown Philadelphia where faith comes alive. We seek a full-time Rector to nurture our hearts and minds and set our hope in the good news of Jesus Christ.

We are committed to serving Christ as a parish in the Anglo-Catholic tradition. Inspired by the Oxford Movement, we seek to “worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness” (Psalm 96:2) through offering Mass according to the English Missal with music of a high standard and to “serve all people, particularly the poor, the weak, the sick, and the lonely.” (BCP, p. 543)

We are a diverse, vibrant, growing urban congregation united by our faith, transcendent worship and the bonds of charity. We seek a Rector who will serve as an example of prayerfulness and holiness of life, energetically seek opportunities to grow our parish, reach out to our city, serve the poor, and pray for the Church and the world. From the altar, the pulpit, and the confessional, to the homes of parishioners and the streets and hospitals of Philadelphia, we hope that our rector will see pastoral care as an integral part of the priestly calling.

At Saint Clement’s, prayer and worship are taken seriously as central to the mission of the Church. Every day, we offer our prayers for the whole Church and the world through Mass and recitation of the Divine Office. On Sundays and Holy Days, Mass is accompanied by music provided by a professional music program. We hope that our next Rector will share our enthusiasm for prayer and will help steward our musical tradition and other gifts that we have to offer. Please send a resume and cover letter to:  applications@diopa.org

Applications for the position will be received until such time as the search process is concluded.
