The Shrine of King Charles the Martyr, which used to stand at the back of the south aisle of the Church, has now been completely restored, and will be re-erected in St Clement’s on Saturday, Jan. 28, close to St Charles’s feast day on January 30. The Shrine will be in the St John’s Chapel, a space more suited to the size of the statue, which was carved in Norfolk, England by the famous sculptor Anton Wagner.
The Mass and Rededication of the Shrine will be Sat., Jan. 28 at 11 a.m., followed by a reception. Members of the Society of King Charles the Martyr and the Royal Martyr Church Union are especially welcome.
