Prayers to Our Lady of Clemency

The Novena Prayer

Blessed Mary, Mother of Our Lord Jesus Christ, glory of our Church and Mother of all Christians: of the generous love and courtesy wherewith thou hast ever served the people of God, be pleased to take our needs to Him. As we kneel before the Throne of our Eucharistic King, do thou bow before His presence in Heaven and plead our cause for us, and by thy mighty intercession obtain for us the petitions which we ask of God during this Novena, that Jesus may triumph over the prince of this world, and souls be blessed and saved, and God glorified in us all for ever and ever. Amen.

O Jesus, our Friend, our Master, our hidden Guest, accept our adoration our devotion, our life as an unending act of supplication for the intentions of our Continuous Novena. Amen.

Intercessory Prayer

Our Lady of Clemency, Mother of Divine Grace, Help of Christians, and cause of our Joy!; plead with thy Son for us and all the Clients at this Shrine of they Clemency. Protect us with they motherly arms from sin and sorrow; be our shield against pride and envy and all snares of the devil; teach us, loving thee, to love Jesus, and all souls for Jesus’ sake. Amen.

A Prayer During Wartime 

Mother of Divine Grace, Help of Christians, and Cause of our Joy! Plead with thy Son for our young men and women who serve with the Armed Forces of our Country, on Land and sae and in the air; protect us all in thy Motherly Arms from sin and sorrow; be our shield against pride and envy, and all the snares of the devil; teach us, loving thee, to love JESUS, and all souls for His sake. Amen.

Prayer When Absent from the Shrine

Most Holy Virgin, I prostrate myself in spirit before the Shrine of the Clemency in S. Clement’s Church, Philadelphia, that Sanctuary hallowed by thy many favours and graces. I unite myself with all those who have ever sought thee, and do now seek thee in that Holy Place, and join my prayers with theirs. But especially do I unite my intentions with the intentions of the Priests who offer the Holy Sacrifice upon the Altars there. I offer thee my love and devotion, asking thee to remember for all eternity that I am numbered among those who have sought thy intercession in this Sanctuary of thy grace. I renew the promises and vows I made when it was my privilege to salute thee at thy Shrine in S. Clement’s Church, Philadelphia. Dear Mother, Queen of Peace, and Lady of Clemency, pray for me.
